Castillo de Alcalá de la Selva (Alcalá de la Selva)
The name "Alcalá" means the castle, this is why we know that this picturesque village was once a fortress in the times of the Muslims. The actual look of the castle has Christian origins, and was constructed by order of the family Fernandez Heredia, starting the works in 1375. It has a rectangular area, finished in keel-shape; this kind of architecture, so rare on rocky landscapes, proves this building to be the home of a noble family.
It 's structure is formed by a yard and a tower or place of residence, which is divided in 3 big rooms, and contains three openings in its upper part that used to be part of an aragonese gallery similar to that of the castle of Valderrobles.

Castillo-palacio de los Fernández de Heredia (Mora de Rubielos)
It stands on a rocky platform above the village. The construction fits the solid and sober style of Mediterranean-gothic architecture, being conceived not only for a military use, but also as a place to live in, which combines several different elements: some typical of military architecture (towers, loopholes, narrow windows, machicolations, etc..) and others of lordly and seigniorial roots, such as the distribution of rooms, arranged around an interior courtyard..

In spite of the lack of documentation, we can establish a chronological order for the castle's history, from the end of the 14th century up to the first half of the 15th century. The castle was occupied by the Fernandez Heredia family until the year 1614, when it was handed over to Franciscan monks, who lived there until Mendizabal's disentitlement in 1835.

It is the ideal place for practicing water sports and fishing; it has playgrounds for children, and an are for relax and bath.

Ex-collegiate church of Santa Maria (Mora de Rubielos)
Ex-collegiate church was built thanks to the licence awarded by the archbishop of Zaragoza Dalmau de Mur, and under the patronage of Lord Juan Fernadez de Heredia. From 1482 until the end of the 15th century, important works were done thanks to the council, which specially concentrated on the cloisters.
This construction has an ashlars shape, and its solid look is strengthened by the thick exterior buttresses. Its horn-shaped door, with its richly elaborated arch and capitels is typical of the gothic style.

The inside structure of the church has also the gothic style of Spain's east coast, as the nave is a large seamless surface with small chapels in between the buttresses. This Style is a constant at Mora, and it can be seen in all it's architecture.
It is covered by simple-cross vaults, and it has a total of five stretches; it has three pentagonal apses and at the foot of a series of grilles of great artistic value sits the choir, which is covered by a groin vault and enclosed by fence of forged iron of the 15th century.
